My family (Dad. Mom, daughter5, and daughter 3) enjoys playing in the snow and making snowman and snow caves. But our number one winter activity is going to my in laws house in the Adirondacks (NY) and snowmobiling! This winter my favorite activity is going to be getting ready for our baby boy who is due March 15th! (P.S. we love our Tri mode)

We have a 10 year old and a 2 month old, so we have to find things that keep them both happy during the winter. Usually the boys will go sledding while Ella and I make hot cocoa and candy cane brownies. We will drink our cocoa then go to the local zoo as they decorate the entire zoo in millions of lights for Christmas!

Our children our very young but we are both so in love with the holiday spirit and we want to share it with them so we have taken our favorite childhood moments and are sharing it with them. Last year we went on a getaway to Sunriver, OR which was one of my husbands favorite place to go to as a child and even had breakfast with Santa. A favorite memory of mine was going with my family every year up into the mountains and the snow to chop down our Christmas tree. This time of year is so very special to us both and we love passing on our favorite traditions to our children. Looking forward to baking Santa’s favorite on Christmas Eve along with a special birthday cake for baby Jesus. Our oldest is almost 3 and can’t wait to help decorate the cookies and cake! 🙂

Along with this being our daughter’s first very winter, my husband who serves in the Navy will be home this year for Christmas!! So that is a celebration in itself! Her Daddy and I enjoy the holiday season so much, Christmas was our “dating” anniversary and we got engaged in Frankenmuth, Michigan, one of the neatest Christmas-towns around. We have a lot of fun things planned this year: Our family is coming in from Michigan, we will decorate a tree together with ornaments from over the years, my Dad will make his famous cappuccinos, we will take a stroll in her new Valco Baby Ion (can’t wait to show it off!) to see the lights around our neighborhood. We’ll watch Christmas movies as a family and cut out paper snowflakes to hang in the windows! And of course.. Mommy will be taking lots of pictures 😛

During past winter seasons, my husband and I usually spend a lot of time snowmobiling. This year will be a little different since it is our first year with our son (9.5 months). We just recently bought a baby sled so we can go for walks, not only using our Valco stroller, but the sled as well. (we just got a new little puppy too, so the daily walks are a MUST).

My favorite thing is to stroll in the winter- the crisp air, the smell of wood burning, cold noses and rosey cheeks, the sound of the snow crunching under the tires and my feet. I love to walk in the winter and my children love it too. We get them all bundled up and go strolling to see the lights!

Our little girl will be 4 months old when she has her first introduction to snow this Christmas. She needs to stay warm this year since she is too little to actually play in the snow. We are really excited for next winter and sledding. As she grows, her daddy will teach her to ski and snowboard, and camp in the snow, but for now, mommy and baby will just be watching . . .

It is cold with much snow where we live, so me and my son (1.5 y) go outside to play in the snow. With the Valco tri-mode baby stroller it makes it easy to get through the snow on our walks on the way to the park or store or wherever we are going. We go cross-country skiing, ice skating, sledding, on long walks or jogs, build snowmans, play soccer in the snow. He’s learning now to handle a hockey stick and soon will be able to play ice hockey with his father. And when and if he gets tired, then I bundle him up and he sleeps cozily in the stroller!

We love to go walking on the San Antonio River during the holiday season. They put lights in all of the trees. By themselves they are nice to look at, but add the reflection of the lights in the water and it truly is a beautiful sight. We have a family Christmas dinner on the river every year. It is so special because we all live in different places and it is nice to spend time with siblings and parents.

When I was little girl my favorite thing to do was ice skate on the Mississippi with my sister and Mom. We had a fantastic time acting like we were Olympic figure skaters. Which was farm from the truth, but it was fun to pretend. Then after our Mom would make us hot chocolate with marshmallows to warm up.
